I lived in the area, and always walked by this place. I wanted to try it out. My friend normally does my hair, but both our schedules had been so busy that we were unable to get together and chat and haircut session. I decided to finally give this place a try. Don cut my hair, and did a stellar job. I was very satisfied. He was very kind, and was easy to talk to. He even did a beard trim on the house since it was my birthday. I no longer live in that hood, but I will be going back for sure to see him and for a great cut! Thanks D!!!
This was my first haircut in about 16 months! I had the "man bun" and needed a good barber who could transition me back.
I waited for 2 minutes before I was seated by Don. He was a super cool guy and very professional. Very skilled and talented, which made the haircut experience great and left me very satisfied.
I will definitely be coming back here for my regular haircuts. 5 stars!
If you are looking for a sharp cut at old fashioned prices, this is the place. If you have to wait, I didn't, you can entertain yourself with men's magazines, books and a complimentary beverage.
Don cut my hair and beard back from bushy and wild to a sharp, and dare I say dashing, style. All done with the minimum of fuss and the maximum of care. All those now hard to find things like hot foam to shave the edges, cotton sheet to cover your clothes, and a spotless shop.
I'm not convinced I'd make the trip from Harlem, New York just for the haircut but I might!
Magic without the illusions. Never before have I walked out of a barbershop with a smile on my face.
There was a long wait, which was down to how meticulous Don is with each customer - but the wait was well worth it. He knew exactly what I was looking for without me having to say much, he spends a good amount of time on the haircut using his machine, scissors and razor as needed. Most places will be happy to do a quick job and let you go in 10 minutes. Here, however, he spends a good 25-30 minutes on your haircut, making sure you have just the look you were hoping for. I saw people before me who were getting their haircut, and he made everyone look sharp, regardless of hair type or age.
Right before I left, he asked me, "See you again?" and I gave him the only appropriate response: "Definitely."
Great place. I have been to Don's Barber Shop three times in a row now. All three have been really good experiences. Three great hair cuts actually. Every time I left tipping more than I set out to tip! :)
